Roadhouse Experience

On Saturday, Tyler and I wanted something tasty.  So we went to Texas Roadhouse for some ribs.  We always share a full rack of ribs and get some sides.  So that was the plan.  We got our ribs and they tasted great inside, but the edges were pretty burned.  We told the waitress that the meat inside was delicious, but we couldn’t eat the outside because it was burned.  She then looked worried and said that shouldn’t happen.  A little while later the manager came to our table, He told us he was sorry they weren’t good and we continued to tell him they really were tasty.  But he looked and said, but they are burned.  We are going to get you some more ribs to go.  And he walked away.  We both were quite full though and grabbed him before he got to far and said that’s alright.  He said we’ll make them to go then and make sure you are taken care of next time.

So the manager came out with a half a rack of ribs to go and a voucher for $18 for another visit.  We were quite shocked… then when we got our bill they took off $10.

Wow… We learned a very good lesson, if something is wrong with your food, be nice about it and they will take care of you.   Thank you Texas Roadhouse!  Lunch was excellent and we will be coming back!

12 Weeks…

Yesterday Tyler and I had an amazing experience.  We went to the doctor’s office and heard our baby’s heart beat.  Yes, you read correctly.  We are having a baby.  The baby is due in december.  We couldn’t be more excited.  As we talked with the doctor yesterday he told us that with how far along I am, the baby’s heart is about the size of the ball in a ball point pen.  We were just amazed that we could hear the little heart beat going 160 bpm even with it being that small.  I have been really lucky too and haven’t been super sick.  I get sick if I don’t eat or don’t get a lot of sleep, but other than that, things have been really good.  We are super excited for this new addition to our family to join us in a few months.  (This is the ultra sound picture from our 8 week appointment complete with captions thanks to Tyler.)

Burgers and Rings

A few days ago I (Hey it’s me, Tyler) decided to put a recent idea for a burger to work.  As you can probably see from the pictures instead of just slapping cheese on the burger, I decided to pan fry it (you know, like when you leave a quesadilla in the microwave too long and it gets hard…) it sounds gross but it’s actually quite good because pan frying it gives it good texture and what not.  I also made some onion rings that were really good too, and to top it off, some A-1 Mayo which ended up giving it a nice zip.  Feel free to give me some new burger ideas in the comments! Maybe I’ll make another round of burgers, and invite you over. =D

Moved in!

I have been meaning to take pictures of the house complete and moved in for a few weeks now.  Then the house got messy and it just didn’t happen… until now!  I finally decided this week that my goal was to clean the house and take pictures.  My little brother has wanted pictures of the house for a while and now he will get them.  So some of the rooms are pretty empty.  We haven’t moved our desk in and we haven’t filled the two bedrooms.  We will have stuff to fill the house one day.  For now.  We will just use the rooms we need.

The Paint Party

A week before we moved in, we decided to paint the walls in our house.  Our builders were charging too much for two tone paint, so we saved ourselves some money by painting ourselves.  We got to the house around 9:30 and left around 9:30 that night.  So after 12 hours of painting, we finished!  It was a tough process, but it was totally worth it!  We love the look of our house with tan walls.  Thanks you to everyone who helped. A Shorter Drive

For the past 6 months or so I have worked back at the Riverwoods branch in the call center.  It has been fun and different talking to members on the phone versus face to face, but that is about to change.  I used to drive into work with my dad when I lived in at their house, then when we got into our house I had to drive alone again.  It is a 25 min. drive which is not always fun.

So, the good news is…. I don’t have to drive so far to work.  I am going to to be a Member Service/ Loan Officer at the American Fork Branch.  I am really excited to be able to do loans and work with members face to face again.  And it will just be in the mornings, so my goal of finishing school by August is still working.  So we won’t have to fill up my car every week, but I did get 32 miles to the gallon this last time which was pretty awesome.  But it will put my drive to about 10 mins.  Yay!

A Fun Experience

Last Friday, Tyler and I got a little bit adventurous for dinner.  We heard about this place in Provo, that to me sounded like Authentic Chinese… well at least the idea of it.  So… we went.  And guess what!  It was delicious!  It is call Four Season Hot Pots.  In China, my friend and I ate hot pots quite often.  They take a pot of broth and then you get to pick whatever you want to put in it and cook everything right in front of you!  And that is what we did at this restaurant. We picked out broth and then picked the stuff we put in it, and it was so good!  It was a little mini trip to China.  And we will be back for sure.  (Sorry, I had a picture but my computer is being dumb so I’ll post it another time)

Week 9

Here are the pictures that we didn’t get in the last post.  The laminate floor looks dirty… so you can’t see what it actually looks like.  Lights are in, and sinks and faucets too.  Just a few more finishing touches (mostly the appliances) and we’re gonna be done!
