A First Timer

Summer 2010 090

So a few weeks ago I finally convinced my parents to join the Brown’s shooting.  My dad has a few guns and so I just assumed they had both been shooting before, but come to find out my mom had never shot a gun.  We drove up past saratoga springs in the foothills and set up everything.  Val (my father-in-law) has some pretty awesome guns.  It was pretty entertaining and I got some fun pictures of mom and dad shooting different things.  Mom was so excited because she shot a sunflower off the stem.  I think at one point when shooting clay pigeons, Val almost had my mom convinced that she had shot one of them herself.  It didn’t last too long but it was funny when she thought she had shot it.  We shot a few hand guns, an assault rifle, some 22′s, and some shot guns.  It was so much fun.  OH and don’t worry, I shot a clay pigeon on my first try!  I think it was luck really… but I’m getting to be a pretty good aim.  Thanks Val and April for letting us all come and have so much fun!  Oh and Thanks mom and dad for coming, it was a blast.

Are you Jealous!?

So i’m a bit of a slacker.  I’ve had some fun summer adventures with friends going up to cabins and family taking my mom shooting for the first time, but I’m slow to upload pictures, so I’ll work on that.  But I just wanted to make you all a little bit jealous for now… We are going on a cruise!  We are heading out to California to visit Rob and Ali the day before our “embarcation” (which is what the web site calls it).  We signed up for this back in May and didn’t think it could come fast enough, but now it is a little over a week away and we are so excited!  Don’t worry I will post pictures when I get back.  :) But the first week in September, think of me and Tyler here…

So the other day it rained on and off all day.  Well after tyler and I got home from work we ate dinner and sat on the couch to relax.   I decided I wanted a popsicle.  I know… I’m a nerd, but it sounded good.  So we walked over to Allen’s grocery store and it was so sunny.  Yes, there were clouds in the sky but it was sunny.  We were only in the store for about 3 mins.  Right as we walked outside it began to pour.  Not just a light rain.  We live a block away from Allen’s and we were both drentched when we made it home.. and we ran!  It was so much fun!  We both can in dripping wet, but it was worth the run because the popsicle hit the spot!  :)

Rob and Ali

So I’m really slow at updating this, but i’m trying to get better.

Anyhow, so near the beginning of July, my brother and his wife came out to visit.  It was a quick trip but it was so good to see them.  We were able to sit and talk alot and also take Ali up American Fork Canyon for her first time in the Summer.  It was beautiful and green!  So much fun.  We ate foil dinners with the usual hamburger, potatos, carrots, onions, cream of mushroom, and then to spice things up, we added butternut squash, zuccinni, and mushrooms.  It was so tasty!  After we ate, dad, tyler, ali, rob and I all drove up to silver lake.  It was so pretty.  And I have an awesome picture of Rob and Dad together at the top of the hill.  So much fun, yet so rocky and bumby on the way up that dirt road!

Oh and my favorite thing about Rob on this trip was his awesome beard that he called his mojo for song writing.  We all just laughed.  So talking, eating at Mi Ranchitos, the canyon, it was a fun visit for sure and we can’t wait to see Rob and Ali again soon!  Hopefully Tyler and I will see them in September when we go out to California for our cruise!  :)

We love you so much Rob and Ali and loved having you come out!  Can’t wait to see you again!
